What is Internet Marketing?

The term "Internet Marketing" refers to the process of marketing products and services for community of people who uses Internet as the medium to research/find information (eventually results into conversions/sales - certain % of it).

The key factor about Internet Marketing is that it introduces the placement of media right into different stages of the online community's engagement cycle. Different techniques/tactics involves SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), banner ads, targeted e-mail marketing, text ads, link-in-text ads, Web 2.0 tools/strategies and the list goes on.

The growth of Internet Marketing is essential and evident with the growth of Internet and its uses in day-2-day life of a consumer and business. Bottom-line is most companies/businesses have their presence in online space today, and have either established their presence in Internet Marketing Strategies or are seeking to adopt in 
near future. 

The golden point here is to increase the customer in-flow (a.k.a. Traffic) to the company's website (maybe it the home page, direct ordering page, or any relevant landing page).

Wikipedia defines "Internet marketing is also referred to as i-marketing, web-marketing, online-marketing or e-Marketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet".
